Competitor rank tracking See who ranks above you, keyword by keyword.

Add rival sites to a project. TheSerpAgent, the rank tracker your AI runs, reads their positions from the same daily check as yours and sets them side by side, in the dashboard and for your AI.

Share of visibility in the dashboard: alpinerun.example at 15.5%, runnersdepot.example at 14.8%, summitgear.example at 8.2% and trailhouse.example at 17.1%, each with its change.

Your position against each rival, for every keyword

Your position comes first, then each rival's, then whether Google shows an AI Overview for that search. A rival reads from the same check as you, so it uses none of your keywords or refresh checks.

The keyword by keyword table: each keyword with your position, the position of three rivals and an AI Overview status of Cited or Shown.

Share of visibility, and how it is worked out

One score per site, per day: how much of the clicks it would win if it ranked first for all your keywords. Each position carries a fixed click rate, shown here. A site at position 3 on every keyword scores 33.3%, because 10% is a third of the 30% that first place earns. Every keyword counts the same, whatever its search volume.

It is an estimate from positions. It compares sites on your keywords, and it measures no visits.

What your AI sees

Your AI reads the table above from get_competitor_rankings and share of visibility from get_visibility. It can add or remove a competitor, and explain_change lists which sites entered or left the top results between two dates.

These show what changed around a keyword, never a cause.

Questions about competitors

How many competitors can I track?

Per project: 3 on Starter, 5 on Premium, 5 on Pro.

Can my AI read competitor positions?

Yes. get_competitor_rankings gives your position beside each competitor's, keyword by keyword, and get_visibility gives share of visibility. Your AI can also add or remove a competitor, and compare two dates for a keyword to list which sites entered or left the top results.

Does adding a competitor use up my plan?

No. A competitor reads from the same daily check as your own keywords, so it uses none of your keywords or refresh checks.

What if a competitor is outside the top 30?

It shows no position for that keyword, the same as your own site would.

How far back does a new competitor's history go?

Up to 14 days, from stored results, on the days your keywords were already tracked. From then on it is recorded with every daily check.

Is share of visibility real traffic?

No. It is an estimate from positions and a fixed click rate for each position. It compares sites on your keywords, and it measures no visits.
