Trimmed for length; the words and tool calls are as they ran. ## Questions about Semrush MCP and Ahrefs MCP ### Is Semrush MCP read-only? Yes. Semrush's documentation says the connection uses read-only access, meaning AI assistants can retrieve Semrush data but cannot modify or delete it. ### Can Ahrefs MCP add keywords? Yes. Ahrefs labels its Add Keywords endpoint API + MCP, and says requests to it consume no API units. ### How often does Ahrefs update rankings? Its pricing page lists an update frequency of Weekly for Rank Tracker on every plan, as read on 7 November 2026. ### Do I need this if I already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs? Probably not. Their MCP comes with what you pay for, and a second tracker adds little. TheSerpAgent is for people with no seat in either. ### Does TheSerpAgent do keyword research or backlinks? No. It tracks Google positions and reports on them.
