The site is fictional; the record's shape is what your AI receives. ## Your AI runs only when someone calls it. Rankings move every day. A past position for one city on one device cannot be looked up later. So something has to keep the record while your AI is off. You could keep it by hand, every morning, in a spreadsheet. Some people still do. Every rank tracker keeps a record like this. TheSerpAgent also treats your AI as the operator: it can run the tracker as well as read it. You may watch. One request in Claude Code, with no dashboard open. It found the location, created the project, added the keywords to a list, set the alert and checked the plan. Tell me when any of them drops 3 places or more. Then tell me how much of my plan is left. summitbikes.example is now being tracked in New York on mobile, with all four keywords in the Spring list. Trimmed for length; the words and outputs are as they ran. ## Four questions your AI will ask before it uses this **Does it keep history?** Yes. `get_keyword_history` returns the date, position and ranking page of each daily check, up to 365 days back in one call. Positions stay for as long as the keyword is tracked. The full top results for a date stay 90 days. `remove_keywords` deletes a keyword's history, and that cannot be undone. **Can it act, or only read?** It can act. 29 of the 49 tools change something: projects, keywords, lists, refreshes, competitors, alerts and their channels, report branding and schedules, and summaries. `generate_report` returns a branded PDF link. **What does a call cost?** Reading has no meter, only a limit of 120 calls a minute. `refresh_keywords` uses one check per keyword from the plan's monthly allowance, and a search checked in the last hour reuses free. `write_summary` uses no allowance, because the summary is written automatically. Your AI can also read the rankings and write its own in your chat. `get_usage` says what is left of the checks. **When should it not be used?** For keyword research, backlinks, Bing, the Map Pack, positions below 30, rankings inside ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity answers, or a one-off lookup with nothing to track. It tracks Google positions over time. ## You hold the key - Your AI cannot sign up or pay. A person does both. - What your AI does on your account counts as done by you. - Deleting tools are marked destructive and tell your AI to confirm with you first, but we cannot make it do so. Deleting a project or a keyword cannot be undone. - No call deletes everything at once. `remove_keywords` needs the exact keyword ids, 100 at most in a call. `delete_project` deletes one project with everything in it, and needs that project's exact domain. - `create_report_schedule` emails the addresses it is given, and tells your AI to confirm them with you first. - Only the account owner can create a key or approve a sign-in. You can end either at any time under AI assistants, and it stops working at once. - A key or a sign-in reaches every project through all 49 tools, with no narrower setting today. It can email reports to any address and send alerts to Slack or a web address. ## What's still left for you Your AI cannot do these. You use the dashboard. Claude Code and Cursor, each with a key, and Claude Desktop through the mcp-remote helper. Claude Code was run against a test copy of the server. The Cursor and Claude Desktop steps follow their own docs and have not been run in those apps. ### Can my AI see competitors or AI Overview? Yes. get_competitor_rankings sets your position beside each competitor's, get_visibility gives share of visibility, and get_rankings says for each keyword whether Google shows an AI Overview and cites you. ### Does it tell my AI why a keyword moved? No. explain_change returns two dates' results and the difference between them. It shows what changed around the keyword, never a cause. ### Can my AI run up the bill? No. Plans are flat.
